• A Farm Fresh Brunch

    Do you remember our contest some time ago for a Farm Fresh Brunch? Well, four lucky winners were chosen and each got to bring a friend to join us and Vitala Foods for a rustic brunch catered by Restaurant 62. Tanya Goehring of Post Photography was on hand to capture our crisp morning at the farm and it was next to impossible to narrow down images to share today…so beautiful! We thought it would be fun to start the morning off with a DIY (always a great ice breaker!) and invited the amazing Kari Dueck of Confetti Floral Design to teach our guests how to make their own evergreen table centrepiece to take home. They turned out so pretty and are an easy project to do at home too, instructions to follow below. Come take a look at the rest of our farm fresh brunch:

    Kari is an amazing teacher and kindly left us the instructions to help you make your own too!

    Make six bunches of foliage, tying each with twine before assembling them in a line with the stems of the three of the bunches pointing in one direction, three in the other, knotting firmly at the centre to hold in place. Pine cones, wire and twine of varying thicknesses were all on hand to give each centrepiece a unique look.

    After getting their green thumbs warmed up, it was time for our guests to eat! Restaurant 62 rolled in with their mobile kitchen to steal the show with an incredible three course brunch. Alicia and Jeff came up with a unique menu featuring Vitala product and it all looked (and smelled!) absolutely amazing!  Yogurt parfaits with banana bread got the ball rolling followed by eggs benedict with dungeness crab and hash browns (yum!), finished off with creme brûlée. Is your tummy growling yet?

    It was all over too soon and we sent our winners home with full bellies (courtesy of Restaurant 62), fresh garlands (thanks to Confetti Floral Design) and swag bags full of goodies from our shop and delicious food from Vitala.
