• New + Notable for the New Year

Hello + Happy New Year! Um, is it the first week of February already?? Wow. Last year was quite the whirlwind for us (especially the tail end) so we made a conscious decision to take a deep breath in January before diving into plans for 2014…easier said than done! While we did take a step back here on the blog, we didn't exactly rest on our laurels. Here' s a little peek at the last month at Spruce Collective…

Kevi had a baby! Meet Arlo Boone, our latest addition to the Spruce family and he's such a doll! We couldn't be happier for Kevi, Dustin + big sister Wren and are so thrilled to be Spruce "aunties" once again!

Five of us (plus employees) working out of a shoebox-sized office lost it's novelty a long time ago so we jumped into some renos, building a permanent wall between our boutique and workshop spaces and creating a spacious office…it's dreamy! Our boutique feels much bigger (it has room for even more clothes now too…bonus!) and we restyled the rest of the store while we were at it, of course! We'll be sharing before + after pictures of our budget makeover with you very soon. Spruce Collective

Lily went to a big blogging conference, Alt Summit, in Salt Lake City (you can read more here and here), bringing back a tonne of information + inspiration that we can't wait to share with you all. We'll be amping up our blog posts and have some really exciting projects in the works too so stay tuned.

We had the privilege of sponsoring the Farmacie 2.0 Dinner with our vintage rentals on the weekend and it was such a beautiful evening! Long table dinners are magical (if you haven't been to one, you simply must one day!) and Farmacie's philosophy is pretty awesome, "Nourishing Connections: A community of food aware citizens coming together to inspire change in both our local and global communities." This event supported two fantastic Vancouver organizations, Backpack Buddies and Quest Outreach Society. Each serve as local nonprofits that strive to resolve food insecurity in Vancouver by providing access to nutritious food. Both charities use donated and surplus food to create access to healthy and nutritious food in a dignified manner. It's beyond inspiring to see how others make a difference!

That's all for now but we've got plenty more in the works. Follow us on Facebook for daily updates, new product announcements and more.  See you soon at the shop! ~Lily
