  • Winter Jubilee : A Downtown Christmas Event

We couldn't be more excited about our roll in organizing this year's Tree Lighting event in Downtown Abbotsford on Friday, November 25th, 3pm-9pm! Did you know it's the 27th year of this annual community event? We're working alongside the Abbotsford Downtown Business Association to revitalize this year's festivities and boy, do we have some awesome plans in the works!

Our musical lineup is FANTASTIC, Field House Brewing will be on hand with a family-friendly beer garden, Borealis Manufacturing will host an amazing Handmade Marketplace alongside an Artisan Market by the Abbotsford Arts Council , we've got LOADS of crafts and activities for kids, Santa + Mrs Claus will be on hand in their workshop, there will be a fun family photo booth, real snow (!), carolling, food trucks, late-night shopping from local retailers and oh-so-much more! We've got a few great surprises in store and Santa's parade and the Tree Lighting itself get started just before 6pm so don't miss out and plan on being there early. Streets will be pedestrian-friendly and closed to traffic.

Our main stage will feature live music and entertainment throughout the day from the following local artists: Joshua Hyslop, Jordan Klassen, Coalmont, Mike Edel, Luca Fogale, DJ Simon Bridgefoot, Topaz with Stacy McKitrick local choirs, children's performers, Dynamic Dance and much more!

The best thing about it? Its FREE and we want our entire community to join in the fun!

Please help us share our Facebook event page (CLICK HERE) and feel free to share the following image on social media too. Interested in helping out? We'll need plenty of helping hands so please contact events@sprucecollective.com if you're interested in volunteering or sponsoring this not-for-profit event. See you there and fa-la-la-la-la!

  • Our New Paint Line : SHELTER by Spruce Collective

We are incredibly proud to introduce our own line of furniture paint, Shelter by Spruce Collective. We've worked with several chalk-based lines in the past but decided it was high-time to hone in on our own nature-based colour palette and to find a Canadian manufacturer to create a high-quality and easy-to-use product for our customers. We found an opportunity to create what we were looking for and it's available in our sister store, The Market by Spruce Collective (right across the street from our original location) and here at our ONLINE STORE.

Each of our 24 hues were carefully selected by us and are inspired by the West Coast wilderness surrounding us here in the Fraser Valley and beyond. Shelter by Spruce Collective is non-toxic, low VOC and is proudly Made in Canada.

Below are just a few of our favourite colours but you can see our entire collection here at our ONLINE STORE or better yet, in person, at The Market by Spruce Collective.

    The Market is MOVING!!!

We are so excited to announce that our second location, The Market by Spruce Collective, is moving this April to a prime location directly across the street from our original store! It will soon be even easier for you to shop from both locations and our extensive renovations are already well underway. Let's just call these the "before" photos, shall we?

This was a significant decision for us to make (financial and otherwise) but our current short-term lease was up and the sight of this view from right outside our new front doors felt just too good to be true. We are so thankful for certain handy husbands and hard-working family members, staff and friends who have been helping us tackle the tough jobs...we seriously couldn't do it without you!

In the meantime, both existing locations are open as usual 7-days a week and we're always on a mission to bring amazing new vintage, locally made + quality curated goods to Downtown Abbotsford.  And don't be surprised if you see us around town with drywall dust in our hair! Be sure to follow us on social media for regular updates (Spruce Collective and/or The Market by Spruce Collective) too.
See you soon! ~ the Spruce Girls

    Spruce Rentals : The Finale

This post feels a little surreal to put out there but it's time to let you all know that this will be our final wedding season. The decision to put our full attention on both of our brick + mortar stores was a long time in the making and although we'll miss being a part of so many beautiful events, we are very excited about the time this will free up for us to focus on our true passions.
Don't be sad...the good news is that as pieces become free from bookings, they'll be available to purchase at The Market by Spruce Collective and Spruce Collective so be sure to come visit us out in the Valley. Items still available to rent at this time are up on our website (click here).
Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement and for including our vintage rentals in so many inspiring events over the years. ❤️ The Spruce Girls

A Holiday Shopping Night with Friends + Neighbours

Tomorrow is our first Holiday Shopping Night with some of our nearest friends + neighbours and we couldn't be more excited! We've teamed up with some other local small businesses to stay open late until 9pm and celebrate Christmas, away from the crowds, in historic Downtown Abbotsford.

Duft and Co. Bakehouse will be selling fresh beignets + hot chocolate on our front porch, Field House Brewing Co. will be inside with a mini pop-up shop and tastings and we'll have in-store discounts exclusive to the evening! We'll have hot drinks and sweet treats on hand up at The Market by Spruce Collective as well as select discounts on our own vintage items. Be sure to check out Little White House & Co. , Cobblestone Kitchenware, Tracycakes Bakery Cafe, Montrose & George General Store to see what they'll have in store for this festive event!
Thank you so much for shopping local this Christmas! #shoplocalabbotsford
Don't forget that we're still collecting new hoodies for at-risk kids and  homeless youth at Cyrus Centre Ministries too...everyone deserves to feel warm this season!
