Spruce Collective / vintage rentals
January 16, 2016
This post feels a little surreal to put out there but it's time to let you all know that this will be our final wedding season. The decision to put our full attention on both of our brick + mortar stores was a long time in the making and although we'll miss being a part of so many beautiful events, we are very excited about the time this will free up for us to focus on our true passions.Don't be sad...the good news is that as pieces become free from bookings, they'll be available to purchase at The Market by Spruce Collective and Spruce Collective so be sure to come visit us out in the Valley. Items still available to rent at this time are up on our website (click here).Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement and for including our vintage rentals in so many inspiring events over the years. ❤️ The Spruce Girls

It's the peak of wedding season and our rental division has been bustling! There is nothing more personal than publicly declaring one's love and we believe that every wedding should reflect the personalities of the couple uniting...it's all about you, after all! Planning wedding decor can quickly become overwhelming but providing pieces to create unique and eclectic weddings just happens to be our specialty. One of our favourite ways to make guests feel at home is by creating intimate lounge seating areas where they can relax and converse amidst the festivities.
We've put together a digital look book featuring some of our favourite lounge combinations but, with a collection the size of ours (see it all here), the possibilities are literally endless! Whether you want us to recreate one of these looks or are envisioning something completely different, we're here to help you create the event of your dreams. By the Seaside | Watered down colours of sea glass and bold pops of azure work well with natural warm wood tones, canvas and driftwood to create a serene and subtly nautical space.
Industrial Salvage | Utilitarian pieces get a second life when used as home furnishings. Upholstered pieces, layers of soft texture and natural greenery soften the look and create an inviting space to relax.
Free Spirit Chic | Bold layers of pattern, colour and texture are glamorous when intertwined with gilded gold accessories and bright jewel tones. Bohemian at it's best!
Gentlemen's Club | Plush velvet upholstery and weathered furnishings are highlighted by eclectic details, creating a lounge perfect for sipping whiskey and sampling cigars with friends.
Garden Gathering | Botanical patterns and subtle layers of texture and colour set the tone for this garden-like lounge area. All that's missing are the tea and crumpets!
Mid Century Modern Romance | Sleek upholstered pieces and retro accessories set the tone for swanky cocktails and uptown vibes. We recently celebrated our 2 year anniversary (yes, TWO years!) and couldn't be more grateful for our little store, amazing staff + the loyal support of all of our incredible customers! We've got so many plans and creative ideas for the year ahead and although most are attainable, many often feel far fetched but we're all about dreaming BIG...I mean, it is how we got this far after all :)
Our front desk got a sassy little makeover this week with the creative efforts of Jessica + Elisa and this sexy yak skull is one of our latest additions to our vintage rentals. Things will be getting a little spookier as we get closer to Halloween and don't forget that there's trick-or-treating in Downtown Abbotsford 1-4pm on the 31st!
Fall fashion has been making it's way into our boutique as well as some fabulous new jewelry additions and more! Cozy sweaters, dresses, skirts and blazers are all perfect for layering as temperatures start to drop. New items are added weekly and we've even added a select amount of plus sizes for all of you curvy girls, hurray!Jen Ellis Designs | Knits by Katie | New Styles for Fall | Art Prints by Jenny Highsmith

We love what we do here at Spruce Collective but we work pretty darn hard to keep this ship a'sailing! Hard work is all the more worth it when an extra perk comes along, like the magical long table dinner we attended recently. Hosted by Farmacie, it was a collaborative effort by several local businesses (you know how we love collaborations!) raising money for Quest Food Exchange and Backpack Buddies, two amazing Vancouver-based organizations. We were thrilled to provide seating from our rental department (they chose an assortment of rustic benches and mismatched chairs for this event) as well as additional props and decor. Our own Jessica whipped up the chalkboard signs in no time flat, too…she's so talented! Photographer Gillian Stevens snapped some beautiful images of the evening and you can see more here as well: Farmacie 2.0 such a success: Sponsor | My Garden Footprint Chefs | Trevor Bird of FABLE + Marika Richoz Photos | Gillian Stevens Photography Flowers | Celsia Florist Produce | SPUD Vancouver Fish | Sustainable Seas Decor | Spruce Collective Bread | Nelson the Seagull Makeup | Katie Elwood Makeup Artist Juice | Juice Truck Vodka | Long Table Distillery Ltd. We are SO excited to share our look book for Trove Vintage Rentals with you today! Mikaela Ruth joined us at the most adorable farm several weeks ago to capture our vision of the ideal Bohemian Farmhouse wedding. It was a quite the day but the sun was shining and Mikaela's photos turned out even more beautifully than we could have ever imagined. Come take a peek... [issuu layout=http%3A%2F%2Fskin.issuu.com%2Fv%2Flight%2Flayout.xml showflipbtn=true documentid=130416175408-9992a0b263c94cb9814bcf60edea7ae4 docname=bohemianfarmhouse username=sprucecollective loadinginfotext=Bohemian%20Farmhouse%20Lookbook showhtmllink=true width=600 height=388 unit=px] Pretty, aren't they? Here are some more of our favourite pics from the shoot.... And just in case you thought it was all glamourous, here's a little sneak peek of what it actually looked like behind the scenes...ever wonder how many Spruce Girls it takes to put up a 3-door backdrop? Four, apparently... And Mikaela gained a new admirer from this handsome fellow.... Interested in including our vintage rentals at your wedding or upcoming event? You can see the rest of our growing inventory here, including pricing, measurements and some Frequently Asked Questions. But we're very sorry, Mr. Ram is not available for bookings at this time ;) ~the Spruce Girls
